Description
Research Overview
Epitalon, also known as Epithalon or Epithalone, is a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG) that has been investigated extensively in experimental research involving the pineal gland, neuroendocrine signalling, cellular ageing and oxidative stress.
Research Focus
Research has examined Epitalon in relation to melatonin regulation, circadian processes, cellular signalling, antioxidant activity, gene expression and mechanisms associated with cellular ageing. Studies have included in-vitro, animal and limited human research.
Scientific Context
Experimental studies have reported a range of biological effects, including changes in melatonin-related processes and cellular responses. However, the mechanisms responsible for these effects remain incompletely understood, and the available evidence varies substantially between experimental models.
Important Research Note
Epitalon remains an investigational compound and is not an established anti-ageing or longevity therapy. Available research should not be interpreted as evidence that Epitalon is safe or effective for extending human lifespan, treating disease or producing other claimed human health benefits.
